![]() ![]() A different, nicer approach would have definitely been more appreciated. As I was 8 months pregnant at the time and still had a full-time job, this rubbed me the wrong way. They incessantly called me and harassed me telling me I had to come back in or they were going to charge me thousands of dollars. They hadn't gotten my signature on one of my rebates, so Ford wasn't going to reimburse them for it. I had some issues working with Ford when I bought the vehicle, though they seem to be more dealership related than all of Ford. The touch-screen display panel is easy to navigate. The search works really well to find restaurants or attractions nearby. I love that the car will read my text messages to me. I like being able to see miles until empty and a digital display of my speed. The look of the dash is appealing and the steering wheel buttons have been really handy. I like the vents in the back that have done a good job keeping my baby cool this summer. The climate control works well for us, since I am always colder than he is. My husband and I can both charge our phones at the same time. I like having multiple USB outlets in the front. I also appreciate having the tinted back windows to keep the sun off my baby girl. The Escape was one of the few small SUVs he could fit in. This small SUV gets decent gas mileage while still fitting my 6'8" husband, me, our baby, our 2 dogs, and all of our baby's stuff! It's always a struggle to find a vehicle with enough headroom and legroom for my husband. I am a happy new mommy in my Ford Escape! That has been quite an adjustment to my driving style! So far I haven't had any major issues with this vehicle and any complaints are minor. While the extra space is a plus, unfortunately compared to my Mustang I had before the Escape greatly lacks in get up and go. I was worried about how my dogs would do riding with the baby, so it's great to have a car that will accommodate my two cocker spaniels in the "trunk" while I can still see them to keep an eye on them without them being able to get too close to the baby. We can fit our daughter's exersaucer/jumper in the trunk with the full-size stroller folded up when we make a trip to grandma's. I can fit the diaper bag on the floor behind the passenger seat too! With a baby comes all sorts of baby gear. The car seat fits behind the passenger seat with a decent amount of legroom still left for a passenger. I wanted something cute, but practical and it has fit the bill. The Ford Escape has been a great "mom car" so far. I was very reluctant to switch to Ford but now I am glad I gave it a chance.I had to trade in my Mustang because I was expecting my first baby. I have been a toyota driver for 30 years and really wanted a Lexus Hybrid, but could not justify the cost to mileage ratio. I just tell my car to call home and talk like my family is in the car with me. I love the Sync - it makes so much sense and is easy to set up & use. Very quiet when in electric mode, a bit noisy when using gas but not as noisey as a typical truck. It has plenty of power for my needs - typical mom stuff. But, after 7,000 miles I don't notice it any more. I don't know if it molded to my body or if I just got used to it. My first impression is that is was made for a man - everything is flat and hard, not curvey or soft. I tend to get about 27 - 28 mpg with my driving habits. ![]() Unfortuantely, I am a freeway driver and always in a hurry. The gas mileage really can be 34 mph and even higher, depending on how you drive: slow city driving, bumper to bumper jams and rolling through foothills you can easily get 40 mpg. It drives very comfortably and has plenty of space. I purchased this vehicle based on economic logic. ![]()
